  • Transformation of a lube oil blending plant (LOBP) after acquisition by MNC

    After the acquisition of a manufacturing company having its own brand over four decades, it was a challenge to turnaround the operations to make it profitable. With the objective of market expansion and asset utilization, a time frame of one year was committed to the board. The immediate phase 1 strategy was clearly outlined as (a) People capability and selling skills enhancement (b) Inventory management (c) Optimize manufacturing costs. In phase 2, Distribution network, supply chain effectiveness and brand marketing were addressed. There was a positive change in the EBITDA from the third quarter and in the second year there was a clear sign of turnaround. In about a year and a half, the traded price in the stock market more than doubled. The company later grew to become a key contributor for the group’s cash flow
